Miscreants set fire to a covered van of Shah Cement in Fatulla of Narayanganj. At this time, the police chased them and arrested one person.
The incident took place in front of the district registry office in Kayempur area of Dhaka-Narayanganj link road on Monday (November 6) at 10 pm.
Zillur Rahman, an eyewitness to the incident and driver of the covered van, said that Shah Cement Company’s own covered van had an engine problem in front of the Narayanganj District Registry Office on its way to the factory. I was looking for a mechanic by parking the car on the side of the road. Then a microbus came and parked in front of the car. At this time, 6 to 7 people ran from behind and set the car on fire and got into the front microbus and ran away. Later, a fire service unit arrived and brought the fire under control.
Fakhar Uddin Ahmed, Deputy Assistant Director of Narayanganj Fire Service, said that a unit of Hajiganj went and extinguished the fire after receiving information about a fire in a covered van.
Fatullah Model Police Station OC Noore Azam said that the miscreants were fleeing in a black colored microbus after setting fire to the covered van at night. At that time, a police team chased them and arrested the microbus with the driver. But on the way miscreants jumped from the microbus and ran away. The driver is being questioned in this incident.
