This is the first time that husband and wife have been promoted to the post of Additional DIG together in Bangladesh Police

Revolution is believed: [২] Bogra Superintendent of Police Sudeep Kumar Chakraborty and his wife AIG (Superintendent of Police rank) Sunanda Roy of Police Headquarters were promoted together. Earlier, several couples working in the police got promotion but they did not get it together.

[৩] Two separate notifications were issued by the Public Security Department of the Home Ministry with the promotion of BCS Police Cadre.

[৪] Bogra SP Sudeep Kumar Chakraborty said that it is very good that the two have been promoted together. It is recognition of our husband and wife’s actions. That is why we are motivated and encouraged. Appreciation to all the senior officials including Prime Minister, Home Minister and IGP who considered us.

[৫] Superintendent of Police couple Sudeep Kumar Chakraborty and Sunanda Roy are both BCS 24th batch officers. Both have served in different departments of Dhaka Metropolitan Police for a long time.

[৬] Such achievement of husband and wife in managing family is rare in Bangladesh Police. Many consider their success as a unique example for both husband and wife serving in the police.

[৭] Sudeep Kumar Chakraborty completed his studies from Mymensingh Agricultural University. Sunanda studied at Sylhet Shahjalal University of Science and Technology. In 2005, the two met and fell in love during training at the Police Academy in Sarda, Rajshahi.

[৮] Sudeep Kumar Chakraborty received the prestigious BPM Medal from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. In addition, he served as a frontline fighter in the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Sudan and the Corona epidemic.

[৯] Sudeep-Sunanda got married in 2008. Alokit has two daughters in this couple’s house. Elder daughter Shinjan, younger daughter Gunjan. In 2009, Sudeep stood first in the 43rd Basic Training Course with all cadre officers of the 24th BCS. For this he received Rector’s Medal. Sunanda stood second in the 44th Basic Training Course.

[১০] Sunanda Roy is the only woman in the rank of Superintendent of Police in Bangladesh among the eight SAARC countries who has trained in the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

[১১] Sunanda Roy trained for a year at FBI Academy Quantico in the United States. Currently, he is working in Crime Analysis Department as Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of SP rank in Dhaka Police Headquarters. He received the Police Honorary Medal BPM during Police Week this year. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina presented him with a medal.

[১২] Both went on UN peacekeeping missions during their careers. In this case, Sunanda Roy’s range is heavy. He has been to England, Hawaii, Australia, USA. Trained at the FBI Academy. And Sudeep Chakravati went to Italy. Bengali woman Sunanda Roy is making a merit-based impression in her career. He headed the Intelligence Analysis Division of the DMP.
