Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate 22 projects in Khulna. He will address a public meeting at Khulna Circuit House next Monday (November 13). He will inaugurate the projects from the venue. Apart from this he will lay the foundation stones of two projects.
According to district administration sources, there are 22 projects in the list of projects sent by the Prime Minister’s Office. The Public Works Department’s eight projects include: 1971: Genocide-Torture Archive and Museum Building on South Central Road in the city, Civil Surgeon’s Office Building and Residence on Shamsur Rahman Road, Technical Training Center in Paikgacha Upazila, Renovation and Modernization of Apprentice Training Office, BSTI’s 10-storey Regional Office Building, 10 in Bitak storey women hostel building, works (civil, sanitary and electrical) of Paikgacha Upazila Sub-Registry Office building, four storey student hostel of Agricultural Training Institute at Daulatpur.
The projects of Sundarbans West Forest Division include – Shekhertek Ecotourism Center constructed under the Sundarbans Ecotourism Facility Expansion and Development Project.
Department of Education and Engineering has 10 projects. These are Dumuria Technical School and College’s five-storey academic and four-storey administrative and workshop building, Boyra Secondary School, Khulna Collegiate School, Government LBK Degree Women’s College, Government Bangabandhu College, Chalan Bazar Government Girls’ High School, Talimul Millat Rahmatiya Fazil Madrasa, Nazrulnagar Girls’ Secondary School and RRF Secondary School each have a six-storey academic building, Aranghata Secondary School has a four-storey academic building.
Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) project includes 315.30 meters long PC girder bridge over river Bhadra on Charcharia Shivnagar road of Dumuria upazila.
Under Khulna City Corporation’s important and damaged road development and rehabilitation project and drainage system development project to eliminate waterlogging in Khulna city, road widening and reconstruction work including construction of drains and footpaths on Khalishpur BIDC Road.
The list of projects of the Directorate of Agricultural Extension includes – Newly constructed six-storey office building of the Additional Director at Daulatpur in the city. Apart from this, there are two in the list of foundation stone laying projects. These are – construction of sanitary landfill in Mathabhanga area under Khulna City Corporation’s waste management development project. Construction of five-storey academic and four-storey administrative and workshop buildings of Dighlia Technical School and College under the Directorate of Education and Engineering.
