Unilever Bangladesh Limited (UBL), the country’s leading FMCG (FMCG) manufacturing and marketing company, has organized its flagship business competition ‘BizMaestroz’ for the 14th time. The competition titled ‘Innovating for People and Planet’ was organized last month. One of the most awaited business competition among the top graduates of Bangladesh is ‘Bizmaesteroz’, which prepares the graduates of the entire country for the corporate world through a unique journey. These students are prepared through real-life business case solutions, mentorship sessions, and exposure to Unilever’s business dynamics. Since its inception, the competition has become well known for producing numerous talents for the industry. This information was informed in a notification on Tuesday (November 7).
Through ‘BizMasters’, final year students get to learn about real business case studies of various brands of Unilever. Among the three challenging and competitive phases of the competition, the first phase was held online, where more than 200 teams from across the country sent their applications online. 30 teams consisting of 100 students who won the second phase got hands-on learning from UBL’s senior management. Each team gained experience working in an FMCG industry by learning the consumer perspective, product sales objectives and how to enhance product sustainability as a key business strategy. Throughout the journey of BizMaestroz, participants are prepared for future employment by witnessing real-world business operations in various fields such as HR, Finance, Marketing and Sales, bridging the gap between learning in their educational institutions and key skills required for employment. A day-long bootcamp was recently organized for the second round selection teams where they learned about various aspects of their future careers and what it’s like to experience working at Unilever, and attended skill-building sessions from UBL’s managers that are critical to succeed in business competition and job evaluations. .
In the final phase of the competition, competing teams will work on providing an end-to-end business solution based on conducting real consumer research and feasibility analysis. They will then present their case to a panel of industry leaders and top Unilever management. Winners of BizMaestroz will represent Bangladesh at an international stage titled ‘Unilever Future Leaders League’ and will be at the forefront of Unilever’s Management Trainee Program evaluation.
Speaking about the aim of the initiative, Syeda Durdana Kabir, HR Director, UBL said, “For us at Unilever, BizMaestroz is not just another traditional business competition. As a ‘Leading Employer of Choice’, we take it upon ourselves to prepare the youth of Bangladesh for employment that matches their interests and aspirations, helping them acquire the right skills for their future. We are committed to skilling 1 crore youth globally and 1 million youth in Bangladesh by 2030, and through BizMasters we are accelerating our mission to build a ‘League of Future Leaders’ and harness the benefits of the country’s youth power.”
