Chhatra Dal leader arrested on charges of sabotaging labor movement in Gazipur


A Chhatra Dal leader has been arrested by the police on charges of creating sabotage under the guise of labor movement in Gazipur. Gazipur Metropolitan Police Commissioner said this information on Tuesday morning in a press conference held at the police commissioner’s office. Mahbub Alam

The arrested Chhatra Dal leader’s name is Ripon Hossain. He is the son of Suruj Al Mamun of Barai Chudi village of Kaliakair upazila. He is the joint convener of Kaliakair Upazila Chhatra Dal.

The police commissioner said that miscreants vandalized cars and set fire to Lida and Fortis factories in Safipur area with sticks. Ripon was later identified after analyzing CCTV footage. Ripon fled the area after the incident and switched off his mobile phone.

This police officer also said that a team of intelligence police conducted a raid yesterday and arrested him from Hazaribagh area of ​​Dhaka. Ripon is involved in the incident of vandalism and arson of ABM fashion factory in Konabari area on October 30, he said. There are four more cases against him in different police stations. Ripon admitted during police interrogation that he and his associates joined the labor movement and caused incidents of fire and vandalism in factories to influence the party movement.
