Seven people were killed in a head-on collision between a bus and a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw in Hathazari, Chittagong district of Bangladesh. 3 more people were injured. The accident took place on Tuesday (November 7) around 12 noon at Charia Board School area on Hathajari-Fatikchari road. The bus driver fled from the spot after the accident.

Local residents and eyewitnesses said that a CNG bus bound for Fatikchari and a bus bound for Chittagong collided in Charia Board School area of ​​Hathazari on the Hathazari-Fatikchari road. In this, 7 people died on the spot. Some seriously injured have been taken to Chittagong Medical College (CHMEC) Hospital.”

Hathajari Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Moniruzzaman said, “We came to know about the incident. Recover the body. Send the injured to the hospital.”

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Nazirhat Highway Police Station. Abil Mahmud said, “At 12:15 on Tuesday, a bus from Nazirhat heading to Chittagong city and a CNG taxi coming from the opposite direction collided in Charia area of ​​Hathajari upazila.”

He also said, “Out of 10 passengers including children in the CNG, seven including three children were killed on the spot. The three injured have been admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital. The bodies have been sent to the morgue.”

The identity of 7 dead people has been found

The identity of the seven people killed in the collision between a bus and a CNG auto-rickshaw in Hathazari of Chittagong has been found. All the seven dead are members of the same family. Among the dead are three women, one man and three children. They are; Biplab (27), Bappa (32), Rita (40), Srabanti (18), Varsha (10), Dwip (3) and Digant (3).
The police said that all the injured and dead were people of Sanatan religion. They were going to Hathajari’s relative’s house from Chandanish upazila to participate in a Shraddha ceremony. The police said that the house of all the injured and dead is in Chandnaish.
