152 officers of the police force have been promoted to the post of Additional Deputy Inspector General (Additional DIG).

Among them, 140 have become Super Numerary Additional DIGs.

These officers have been promoted in two notifications from the Public Security Department of the Home Ministry on Monday.

The promotion notification said, “This promotion has been given against the 140 supernumerary posts created after completing all the formalities mentioned in the letter of the Public Administration Ministry on September 7 and Finance Department’s Expenditure Management-5 Branch on October 25.”

Officers working on mission, study leave or on deputation and lien will be promoted after joining the main post. They will not get any financial benefits before the date of joining.

The tenure of 140 supernumerary posts will be one year from the date of creation of posts.

“The promoted officers will hold their duties ex-officio,” the notification said.

On the other hand, it has been said about the remaining 12 officers who have been promoted to the post of Additional DIG, they have to send their joining letter to the promoted post through the appropriate authority to the Senior Secretary of the Public Security Department.

Five Deputy Commissioners of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) are among these promoted officers. They are – Muhammad Ashraf Hossain, Anisur Rahman, ABM Masud Hossain, Md. Shahidullah and Asma Siddiqa Mili.

Two Deputy Commissioners of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) Abdul Warish and Mostafizur Rahman are on the promotion list.

Besides, Tangail Superintendent of Police (SP) Sarkar Mohammad Kaiser, Kushtia SP AHM Abdur Rakib, Naval Police SP Sharifur Rahman, Bogra SP Sudip Kumar Chakraborty and Jessore SP Praloy Kumar Jowardar are present.
