After nearly two years, Nahida Akhtar has again been nominated for the ICC Massera Cricketer Award. The left-arm spinner of Bangladesh has made it to this list because of his excellent performance in the T20 series in which he won against Pakistan last October.
Nahida took 5 wickets for 8 runs in the first T20 against Pakistan. Which is the best bowling figure for Bangladesh. He won the series best award by taking two wickets in the second match and one wicket in the last match. Not only that, the left-arm spinner became Bangladesh’s highest wicket-taker in T20, surpassing Salma Khatun.
Nahida was nominated for Massera for the first time in November 2021. Seber lost to Hayley Matthews. This time Mathews is his rival. In addition to scoring 310 runs in the T20 series against Australia, this West Indies all-rounder took 5 wickets. Apart from this, Amelia Kerr of New Zealand, who played a great game in the ODI and T20 series against South Africa, is also in this list.
Meanwhile, South Africa’s Quinton de Kock, New Zealand’s Rachin Ravindra and India’s Jasprit Bumrah have been nominated in the men’s category.
