A station master who lost his right arm and leg while boarding a train at Gobindganj’s Mahimaganj railway station has died.

Today Tuesday (November 7) at 11 am in the upazila’s Mahimaganj railway station, the victim of the accident, the name of the station master Md. Abdus Sobhan Akand. After retirement, he was working at Mahimaganj Railway Station as a contractual Station Master. He died at 1.30 am while undergoing treatment at Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College (Shajimek) Hospital in Bogra.

Sohag Khan, station master on duty at Mahimaganj railway station, said, ‘After completing his duty, station master Abdus Sobhan was boarding Burimari-bound intercity 713 up Karatoya express train to go to his home in Gaibandha city. When the train left, he lost his foot and fell under the platform while getting on the moving train. Then his right arm and right leg were severed by being crushed by the wheels of the train. When the train left, he was rescued and first sent to Upazila Gobindganj Health Center. Later he was taken to Bogra in coma for better treatment. He died there.

Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College (SHJMEC) Hospital Police Outpost Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Md. Yusuf Ali said, “He died on Tuesday around 1.30 pm while under treatment.”
