New Zealand will come to Bangladesh to play a Test against Bangladesh after the World Cup. The Kiwi selection board has increased the spin strength to 15 members for the two-Test series. Ajaj Patel and Mitchell Santner are joined by Rachin Ravindra and Ish Sodhi among the spinners.
The New Zealand Cricket Board said in a statement that the team will be led by experienced pacer Tim Southee. However, World Cup captain Kane Williamson will remain in the team. Bangladesh and New Zealand will start the journey of Test Championship 2023-25 cycle with this series.
Head coach Gary Stead will be rested for the series. Former batsman Luke Ronchi will be the coach in his place.
Glenn Phillips has got a chance in the Test team due to improving India’s condition in the current World Cup. Bangladesh’s former spin consultant and former Pakistani cricketer Saqlain Mushtaq will come as spin coach.
The first Test will be played at Sylhet International Stadium on November 28. The next Test of the series is on December 6 at the Shere-e Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.
