The rule states, ‘After a batter is out or retired, he or another batter must be ready to face the next ball within 3 minutes. Otherwise, the batsman who is getting down, will be time out. ‘

The umpire responded to Shakib’s request as per the rules. Because by then almost five minutes had passed. Mathews could not be happy with such a decision. He threw the helmet while returning to the dressing room. After this incident, tension spread several times between the cricketers of the two teams in the match.

After dismissing Shakib, Mathews showed ‘time out’ on the watch. Even after the match, the excitement did not end. Sri Lankan cricketers did not shake hands with the cricketers of Bangladesh team.

In the press conference after the match, Shakib was asked whether there was any further discussion after the tension in the match. In reply, he said, ‘There was no talk at the end of the game. Later Shakib said about the courtesy handshake, “We didn’t shake hands, they left.” ‘
