Jonaid Saki’s Jot Democracy Manch has called for a blockade. One of the partners of BNP’s simultaneous movement, Jot Dhamakra Manch has announced a two-day all-out blockade program.

Shahid Uddin Mahmud Swapan, coordinator of the Democracy Forum and general secretary of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD), announced this at the press conference organized at the central office of Bhasani Anusari Parishad in Purana Paltan of the capital on Monday (November 6) afternoon.

Mahmud Swapan said, ‘People have taken a stand on the streets against all kinds of state oppression and terrorism. Leaving tomorrow 7th out of the program of the movement, 8th and 9th, I am again announcing a complete blockade program.’

Hasnat Qayyum, the co-ordinator of the State Reform Movement, a partner of the Democracy Forum, said, “If we are going to walk the path of state reform in Bangladesh, the first reform that needs to be done is to exercise the right to vote and hold fair elections.” For this, this government must be dismissed first.’

At that time, Jonaid Saki, the chief coordinator of the Mass Solidarity Movement, said, ‘The government has cracked down on the entire movement. Hundreds are setting fire to buses in front of the police. By doing this, they are putting the blame on the opposition, so that they cannot enter the field. Basically, the government is doing all this for a one-sided election.

General Secretary of Revolutionary Workers Party Saiful Haque said, ‘The political death of Awami League happened long ago. So they are unable to deal with the opposition politically. Therefore, it has planned to hold power by suppressing the opposition in a militant manner.’

General Secretary of Nagrik Oikya Shahidullah Kaiser, Member Secretary of Bhasani Anusari Parishad Habibur Rahman Riju and others were also present at the press conference.
