The Vice-Chancellor of Khulna University said that computer education is very important nowadays. Everyone should become proficient in computers even in university work. Because, there is no alternative to acquire skills in computers to become skilled human resources in building a smart Bangladesh.

He said these things in a training titled ‘Orientation to MS Word and Excel’ on Monday (November 6) organized by Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Khulna University.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. spoke as the chief guest at the opening ceremony of this training held at the Computer Lab of Development Studies Discipline of Kabi Jibananda Das Academic Building of the University. Mahmud Hossain.

The vice-chancellor also said that adapting oneself to the evolution of technology with time is a big thing. With the arrival of Windows in computers came the revolution. Computer applications are essential for carrying out official, business and day-to-day activities. For this reason, the government is familiarizing young children with computers through the Sheikh Russell Digital Lab from primary schools.

He said that Khulna University is unique from many other universities. D-document has been introduced here in the first phase among public universities in the country. So comes mobility in FileWorks. There is no alternative to D-documents to ensure transparency-accountability- that is why it has been introduced in almost all offices.

He also said that we are all closely related to the education system. If the officers and employees become skilled in technology, the country will move forward along with the university. Therefore, we should play a role in the progress of the country with our own efficiency.

The vice-chancellor expressed sincere thanks to all concerned including the director of IQAC for organizing the training.
