In Bogra’s Shajahanpur, the besiegers stopped a water lorry while spraying water on the under-construction highway and poured petrol on it and set it on fire. The entire cabin including the engine of the lorry was burnt in the fire.
The incident took place on the Dhaka-Rangpur highway in Betgari area of the upazila around 12:15 on Monday. Meanwhile, on the same day, the Chhatra Dal leaders and activists locked the gates of Bogra Azizul Haque College. At this time, they also pulled a placard saying ‘State repair work is going on, sorry for the temporary inconvenience’ in order to collect one point of demand.
Hafizur Rahman Gazi, the driver of the lorry, said that the picketers threw some inflammable substance on the lorry. Shajahanpur police station OC Shahidul Islam said that no one was injured in the incident. Identification of the miscreants is underway.
Government Azizul Haque College Chhatra Dal branch leader Tanha Sarkar said that the gates of the new building of the college in Kamargari area and the old building in Fulbari area were locked. District Chhatra League president Sajib Saha said that it is not possible to remove Awami League from structural politics by doing these things.
