A school student of the Textile Vocational Institute was killed in a collision between a motorcycle and an engine driven car at Ishwardi in Pabna. Two others were injured. All the casualties were going to take the exam.
The accident took place at Baharpur area of Ishwardi-Pabna highway on Monday around 9:30 am.
The name of the deceased school student is Mitul Hossain (15). He is the son of Ismail Hossain of Athail Shimul village of the upazila and a student of dress making department of Ishwardi Government Vocational Textile Institute of class 10.
The injured are Vishal Hossain (15) and Siam Hossain (15) of the same class. Both have been sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RAMEK) in critical condition.
Ishwardi Fire Service and Civil Defense War House Inspector Apu Kumar Mandal said, after receiving the information at 9:33 am, three people were rescued from the scene in a bloody state and taken to the hospital. The doctor on duty declared one dead. Two seriously injured have been sent to Ramek in a critical condition.
Umm Habiba, a doctor at Ishwardi Upazila Health Complex, said that Mitul died on the spot of the accident. Injured Vishal and Siam are in critical condition. They have been sent to Ramek Hospital for better treatment.
Rafiqul Islam, Superintendent of Ishwardi Government Vokeshal Textile Institute, said, ‘The three injured and killed in the accident are tenth grade students of our educational institution. The selection test is going on in the institute. They were coming for the exam. One person was killed and two others were seriously injured in an accident on the way.
