When informed of the matter, the High Court asked the child to be handed over to the mother in the chambers of the writ petitioners. However, on 16 November 2021, the High Court banned Sanyur from leaving the country with the child, after being told that the child was not produced. The police were directed to produce Shishu and Sanyur in the court on November 21, 2021. According to this, the police said on November 21 that the father left the country with the child on the morning of November 16.
On November 23, 2021, the High Court temporarily suspended the validity of Sanyur’s Bangladeshi passport. At the same time, a general diary is also asked to the police station that the child is missing. Apart from this, a contempt of court ruling was issued against Sanyur for leaving the country with the child despite the court order.
Then on December 15, 2021, the High Court ordered. The High Court sentenced Sanyur to six months imprisonment and a fine of one lakh rupees for leaving the country with a three-year-old child without complying with the court’s order. Sanyur will have to undergo another month’s imprisonment if the fine is not paid, the order said.
The child’s mother’s lawyer Kazi Maruful Alam told Prothom Alo this afternoon that the child and her mother are now in a house of Sadika Banani under the supervision of the human rights organization Foundation for Law and Development.
