Commander Khandaker Al Moin, director of the Law and Media Branch of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), said that the identity of the attackers at the residence of the Chief Justice was found on October 28.
He said this in response to questions from media persons at his office on Monday (November 6).
Khandaker Al Moin said a review of CCTV footage and media videos of the attack on the Chief Justice’s residence identified a man named Ali Hussain who actively participated in it.
A review of Ali Hussain’s information shows that he is an active member of an opposition party in Kushtia. He is also involved in drug smuggling in the area. He has previously served prison terms for various criminal acts, added Khandaker Al Moeen.
He said that on the first day of the siege, several cars were vandalized on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in Sreepur area and the besiegers created panic by setting fire to the road. A case was registered in that incident. We have arrested Aminul Islam, the main accused in that case. In media footage and CCTV footage we have seen him lead the stand-up, arson and car vandalism.
