The police dispersed the agitation by firing tear shells in the six-storey area of ​​Ashulia in Savar. The police started chasing the movement which started on Saturday (November 4) morning.

Tear shells and tear gas are being fired and water cannons are being used to disperse the agitating workers demanding higher wages. Several people were injured in the clash.

According to local sources, around eight in the morning, the workers of several factories gathered in Jamgara six-story area of ​​Tongi-Ashulia-EPZ road. Later they started throwing bricks and stones at the factory. At that time, the policemen chased the workers and removed them from the road. Later, the angry workers entered the alley and started pelting bricks and stones at the police. Policemen also fired rubber bullets to control the situation.

Dhaka District North Intelligence Police Inspector (OC) Riaz Uddin Ahmed Biplab said, ‘When the workers tried to get down on the road in the morning, they were removed from the road. Rubber bullets were fired to control the situation.

Additional Superintendent of Police of Shilpa Police-1 Mahmud Nasser Johnny said, ‘After the opening of garment factory in Ashulia in the morning, the workers came out of the factory and gathered on the streets. When the police removed them and cleared the road, a clash broke out. Now the situation is normal.’
