Rajshahi gynecologist Fatema Siddika was arrested by the police. Ismail Hossain, officer-in-charge (OC) of Shahmakhdum police station of the city confirmed this information on Saturday morning. He was detained from his home in Barabangram area of Rajshahi city for questioning last Friday evening. After questioning, he was arrested by the police on charges of involvement with Jamaat-Shibir and providing them with money.
Detective Police (DB) of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) and a group of police from Shah Makhdoom Police Station entered the house on Friday afternoon. Later in the evening, Fatema Siddiqa was taken to the police station in a police car. At that time, the police officers who participated in the operation did not want to talk to the media.
Dr. Fatema Siddiqa is associated with Jamaat-e-Islami politics. A police officer who raided his house said that the raid was conducted on the news of a secret meeting of several Jamaat leaders and activists in the house. But no one was found at home. Nothing was seized from the house. It was reported that this doctor was taken to the police station for questioning, but after questioning he was arrested and sent to court. OC Ismail Hossain said that on Friday evening, a team of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police brought Fatema Siddika to the police station for questioning. Dr. Fatema Siddiqa is associated with Jamaat-e-Islami politics. His involvement in the interrogation is found. In a case in May this year, he was arrested on charges of involvement with Jamaat-Shibir and providing them with money.
