For the first time, Bangladesh women’s cricket team has set a record of winning the series against Pakistan in T-T20I. After this historic victory on the soil of the country, the red-green girls will now play a one-day cricket series against Pakistan.
The importance of the series is high as it falls under the ICC Women’s Championship. Nigar Sultana Jyoti’s team will take the field at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Saturday (November 3) at 9 am.
Understanding the importance of the series, Jyoti also says about the achievements at home, ‘Now I am thinking more about these ODI matches in Pakistan. If we can play well team wise, it will be another achievement for our cricket.’
Bangladesh have faced Pakistan 12 times before in ODIs. Both teams have won by six runs. Marufa Akhtar wants everyone to unite and defeat Pakistan at the home of cricket.
“I want everyone to have a contribution, no matter how small, in the team. We will call a team that definitely has match winners, to support them we all have to play together.’
Bangladesh won the series against India in Sher-e-Bangla in July. Now Pakistan is ahead. Jyotira wants to maintain the winning streak. Bangladesh wants to proceed by planning match by match.
Jyoti said, ‘Look, the points in the ODI series are important for us. The Pakistan team has told how it is. In that case our plan is to play match by match.’
