Chittagong Md. The court sentenced a drug dealer named Shahadat Hossain Ravi (27) to life imprisonment.
On Thursday (November 2), Chittagong Fourth Additional Metropolitan and Sessions Judge Shariful Alam Bhunya gave the verdict. In the same judgment, the court sentenced him to a fine of Tk 10,000, in default of payment, another year of imprisonment.
Convicted Shahadat Hossain is the son of deceased Shah Alam of Bakshi Uttar Para village of Comilla Sadar South Police Station.
Confirming the verdict, the court’s bench assistant Omar Fuad said that the court has sentenced a young man named Shahadat Hossain Ravi to life in the Yaba rescue case. The accused is absconding on bail. The court issued a warrant against him.
According to the documents of the case, on August 28, 2019, RAB-7 arrested Rabi along with 5,430 yabas from Shulakbahar area of Panchlaish police station of the city. RAB filed a case under the Narcotics Act in this incident. After the investigation, the charge sheet was given to the court on December 7 of that year. On February 9, 2021, the court framed charges against the accused. The court announced the verdict on Thursday based on the testimony of 7 witnesses.
