Three people were killed in separate incidents in Chittagong. Among them, two CNG passengers died after being hit by a covered van on the city’s Bayezid Link Road and one person was bitten by a vimrul in Rangunia upazila. These two incidents happened at separate times on Friday.
It is known that the passenger of the CNG-driven autorickshaw was hit by a covered van on the city’s Bayezid Link Road in Brahmanpara area of Comilla. Monir (50) and Ziaur Rahman (40) of Bogra’s Shahajanpur police station were killed. The autorickshaw driver was injured in this incident. Shaheed (32). The accident took place in Faujdarhat Banglabazar bypass area on Friday morning.
Masood Rana, in-charge of Faujdarhat police outpost, said a covered van hit the autorickshaw coming from the opposite direction. The autorickshaw driver and two passengers were seriously injured. They were sent to Chamek Hospital. Covered vans and CNG autorickshaws have been seized.
On the other hand, Raja Mia (40) was killed by Vimrul in Sikdar Para village of Betagi Union of Rangunia Upazila. He is the son of Enamul Haque of that area. He has a wife and two children. He worked as a laborer on daily wage basis. The incident happened around 8:30 am on Friday.
Local UP Chairman Shafiul Alam said that in the morning, Raja Mia went to cut the trees of her neighbor Nuru Mia. During this time, many were injured by the boiling sting of Vimrul. When he was taken to the Upazila Health Complex, the doctors on duty declared him dead.
