On the occasion of the 98th birth anniversary of internationally renowned Bengali filmmaker Ritvik Kumar Ghatak, the ’11th Ritvik Sammanna Padak and Film Festival 2023′ is starting on Saturday (04 November) in Rajshahi.

Ritvik Ghatak Film Society Rajshahi has organized this festival for three days (November 04-06) like every year.

On Saturday (November 04) at 4:30 pm, the three-day festival will begin with the awarding of Ritvik Sammanna Padak and Ritvik discussion at the premises of Ritvik’s Pitru-Vita (Rajshahi Homeopathy Medical College and Hospital) in Miapara, Rajshahi city.

Bangladeshi film director, cinematographer, teacher and organizer Rakibul Hasan and film director and teacher Shamim Akhtar, Indian film activist Amitabh Ghosh and filmmaker, critic, activist, documentary filmmaker Madhu Janardan are receiving Ritvik Sammanna Padak 2023 at the festival this year.

President of Ritvik Ghatak Film Society Rajshahi Dr. FMA will be chaired by Zahid. The general secretary of the organization, Mahmud Hossain Masud, will be present as the chief guest in the event.

Poet and educationist Professor Ruhul Amin Pramanik, Rajshahi Deputy Commissioner Shamim Ahmed, Indian Assistant High Commissioner Rajshahi Manoj Kumar, dramatist Professor Malay Kumar Bhowmik, Rajshahi Nagar Awami League Vice President Shaheen Akhtar Reni, Sammilita Sanstik Jot Rajshahi General Secretary Dilip Kumar will participate in the event as guests of honour. Ghosh, Ward Councilor No. 12 of Rasik Sariful Islam Babu. Ritvik Ghatak Film Society Rajshahi festival director and Rajshahi Film Society president dramatist and filmmaker Ahsan Kabir Liton will deliver the welcome address.

Filmmaker Ahsan Kabir Liton’s ‘Eleventh Ritvik Sammanna Padak and Film Festival 2023’ commemorative will be unveiled on the occasion. Swaranika’s editing assistant was cultural personality and development worker Md. Shamiul Alim Shawon and Md. Atiqur Rahman Atiq.

Cultural organization Dhrupadalok Rajshahi will perform ‘Ayaantrik’ written by dramatist Ahsan Kabir Liton on the occasion. Also, the film ‘Durbar Gati Padma’ directed by internationally renowned Bengali filmmaker Ritwik Kumar Ghatak will be screened.

On the 2nd day of the festival (05 November) from 6 pm to 8:30 pm at Lalonshah Muktamanch in Pathanpara on the banks of the Padma in the city, among the films nominated for the ’11th Ritvik Sammanna Padak and Film Festival 2023′, Aparjita Sangeetha’s ‘Charapatra’, Kamruzaman’s ‘Sabuj Kritdas’, AH Rajeev’s ‘ Power of Women’, Supin Burman’s ‘Priceless People’, Fahim Islam’s ‘Pramad’, Kamrul Ahsan Leylin’s ‘Ghraan’ will be screened.

Also, on the third day of the festival (06 November) from 6 pm to 8:30 pm at Lalonshah Muktamanch in Pathanpara on the banks of the Padma in the city, among the films nominated for the ’11th Ritvik Sammanna Padak and Film Festival 2023′, Layek Ahmed Pawan’s ‘2X2’, Fuaduzaman Fuad’s ‘Taba Ki Palayani Mangal’ ?’, Ifat Wasim’s ‘Class Friend’, Jeeban Shahadat’s ‘Nameplate’, Nannu Mahmud’s ‘Bandh’, Shimanda Sajal’s ‘Shaikal Bhangar Gan’, Gholam Rabbani’s ‘Miracle in Heaven’ and Labani Ashrafi’s ‘Paravasi’ will be screened.
