A person has been arrested in connection with the theft of Tk 26 lakh 32 thousand from Dutch Bangla Bank booth in Subidbazar, Sylhet city. On Friday (November 3) at noon, the police arrested an ATM officer named Albab Hossain.
In this incident, Sandeepan Das, in-charge of Sylhet money delivery company Securex Private Limited Sylhet, filed a case as the plaintiff. Two ATM officers of Securex Company have been accused in the case. Arrested accused in the case filed in the case of theft in Albab booth.
Sylhet Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner (North) Azbahar Ali Sheikh said that ATM officer Albab Hossain has been arrested by the police in connection with the theft of money. He is accused in the case of theft in the booth. Apart from this, after seeing the CCTV footage of the booth, an operation is underway to arrest others in this incident. Arrested Albab is being interrogated.
According to the police, the money was uploaded in the booth on October 27. But on the 30th, a discrepancy of Tk 26 lakh 32 thousand was seen in the booth. Later, in the CCTV footage, between 11:55 and 12:15 on October 28, 2-3 persons wearing black caps and face masks opened the vault of the bank booth and stole the money.
Moin Uddin Sipan, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sylhet Metropolitan Police Airport Police Station, said that on Friday (November 3) morning, Sandipan Das, in charge of Securex Private Company Limited, filed a case at the police station. One person named Albab Hossain has been arrested in this incident.
He also said that the company’s ATM officers Albab Hossain and Aminul Haque were involved in the theft along with 2-3 unknown persons in the case.
