Two more deaths due to dengue in Barisal, 134 identified

Two people have died due to dengue in Barisal in the last 24 hours. Besides, 134 new dengue cases have been detected in the last 24 hours.

On Friday (November 3) at noon, the deputy director of the Directorate of Health Barisal Dr. Shyamal Krishnamandal confirmed this information.

The deceased are Sampa Basu (40) of Gournadi Upazila and Yudhisthir (80) of Banaripara Upazila. Both of them died while undergoing treatment at Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital.

Dr. Shyamal Krishnamandal said that since January this year, 33 thousand 319 dengue patients have been admitted to various government hospitals in Barisal. Among them, 32 thousand 539 people have recovered. 154 dengue patients have died in the department so far. Among them, 120 people died while undergoing treatment in two hospitals in Barisal, nine in Bhola Sadar Hospital, five in Barguna Sadar Hospital, 12 in Pirojpur Sadar Hospital, seven in two hospitals in Patuakhali and one in Jhalkathi Hospital.

According to the information of the Department of Health, in the last 24 hours, a maximum of 55 dengue patients have been identified in Barisal, 17 in Patuakhali, 42 in Pirojpur, 16 in Bhola and four in Barguna. As of Friday morning, 626 dengue patients are admitted in various government hospitals in six districts.
