Ansar and village defense forces have started implementing a special plan to maintain normal road and rail communication throughout the country during the 3-day blockade called by like-minded parties including BNP-Jamaat. For this reason, 66 thousand 817 Ansar-VDP members have been deployed across the country since Tuesday.
The members of the force started performing their duties from yesterday morning. They will perform duties at railway stations, bus stands, launch ghats, public and private important facilities and important public places till November 2.
2,280 Ansar battalions of Ansar and Village Defense Forces are deployed across the country to patrol with the Executive Magistrate and Police. They are divided into a total of 250 teams and are performing duties in dangerous places.
General Ansar and VDP members will be responsible for maintaining smooth traffic on roads and railways including railway stations, bus stands and launch ghats. Apart from this, 10,000 Ansar-VDP members have been deployed at 1,476 points across the country.
Meanwhile, 54 thousand 537 affiliated Ansar members are engaged in the security of 5 thousand 296 different public and private institutions. Apart from ensuring the safety of their responsible establishments, they are also on alert in the surrounding areas.
