Former Principal of Mymensingh Medical College Prof. Fazlul Karim passed away

He breathed his last at 5:30 pm on Tuesday (October 31) while undergoing treatment at the Christiana Hospital in Delaware, USA. He was 90 years old. At the time of his death, his wife Farida Karim, daughter Dr. Fawzia Hasan is survived by many relatives and friends, including sons Faisal Karim and Fahim Karim and grandchildren. It is known that Professor Dr. Fazlul Karim’s ancestral home is in Chandina, Comilla. He was born on 22 November 1933 at his maternal grandfather’s house in Mymensingh. He passed MBBS from Dhaka Medical College in 1958. He received his MSc from Karachi University in 1963 and his PhD from UK in 1970. Professor Karim taught for 55 years from 1960 to 2015 with great reputation. He served as the principal of Mymensingh Medical College in the mid-seventies.
