Saima Wazed elected Regional Director of World Health Organization
Dhaka, 1 November 2023 (BSS): Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s daughter Saima Wazed has been elected as the Regional Director of the World Health Organization (WHO). Minister of State for Foreign Affairs in a Facebook message from New Delhi. Shahriar Alam informed this information.
The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs wrote, Saima Wazed was elected by 8-2 votes. He will perform this duty for the next 5 years.
The Government of Bangladesh has nominated Saima Wazed as Regional Director of WHO South-East Asia Region. The WHO South East Regional Office is one of six regional offices of the organization. It is composed of representatives of member countries.
Saima Wazed received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Barry University in 1997 and her master’s degree in clinical psychology in 2002.
In 2004, he obtained a specialist degree in school psychology. While studying at Barry University, she researched the development of women in Bangladesh. His research work on this subject was recognized as the best scientific presentation by the Florida Academy of Science.
