Tongi Paschim police station of Gazipur district has registered a case against the names of 78 BNP leaders and 50 unidentified people for setting fire to motorcycles.
The case was registered at Tongi West Police Station on Tuesday night. 6 people have been arrested in the case.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Tongi West Police Station. Shah Alam told The Daily Star that a case has been filed against 78 identified people and 50 unidentified people for setting fire to a motorcycle in Cherag Ali area of Tongir.
He also said that initially 6 people were arrested in the case and sent to court.
According to BNP and police sources, top leaders of BNP, Youth Dal and Chhatra Dal of Tongi West Police Station have been accused in this case.
Former Joint Secretary of Gazipur Metropolitan BNP Rakib Uddin Sarkar Pappu, Convener of Tongi Paschim Thana BNP Sheikh Md. are among the 78 activists in the case. Alek, President of Tongi Paschim Thana Swachhsevak Dal Abu Bakar Siddique and convener of Gazipur Mahanagar Youth Dal. Sajedul Islam.

Apart from this, a case has been filed against 22 BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami leaders and activists at Kapasia police station on charges of sabotaging the hartal last Sunday.
