Dhaka: Directorate of Narcotics Control (DNC) including illegal foreign liquor. A drug dealer named Monir Hossain (38) was arrested. On Thursday night (May 25), he was arrested from inside a shop called Mim Fashion Gallery at T&T Colony (Ershad Ground) Graveyard Road of Banani Karail Basti.
This information was confirmed on Saturday (May 26), Narcotics Control Department Dhaka Metropolitan Office (North) Assistant Director Md. Mehdi Hasan.
He said, after intelligence monitoring based on secret information, Deputy Director Mr. Md. A team of Gulshan Circle under the supervision of Rasheduzzaman raided there on Thursday night and arrested him along with 56 bottles of illegal foreign liquor.
He said that the Narcotics Control Directorate had intelligence information that the drug dealer Monir Hossain had been supplying illegal foreign liquor to various places including the capital Dhaka for a long time. He has been managing the liquor business using various techniques and his activities and movements were being monitored by getting such information from secret sources. The latest information came to the Narcotics Control Directorate that he was procuring illegal foreign liquor from an airport-based gang and supplying it to different places in Gulshan and Banani. Later he was arrested with foreign liquor.
Besides, his mobile set used for selling drugs was seized.
Mr. Md. Additional Director of Dhaka Divisional Office of Narcotics Control Directorate regarding the operation. Zafarullah Kajal said that surveillance has been intensified on those involved in the smuggling of illegal foreign liquor along with crystal meth/ice, Yaba, L.SD, DOB and other harmful drugs. Such operations will continue in the future.
