Bangladesh secured the semifinal game of Bangabandhu Cup International Kabaddi Tournament with one match in hand. The last match was against Iraq to win the group. Today, Saturday (March 18), Bangladesh won the match easily.
In the last match of the group at the Shahid Noor Hossain Volleyball Stadium in Paltan, Bangladesh defeated the Middle Eastern country by 49-33 points including three losses and will now play the semi-finals as the best in the group with 10 points after five consecutive wins. Bangladesh led by 28-13 points in the first half. Bangladesh captain Tuhin Tarafdar was the best player of the match.
Two reliable players Russell Hasan and Roman Hossain could not play for the Bangladesh team in this match held at the Shahid Noor Hossain Volleyball Stadium in Paltan. He suffered a head injury while playing against England in the previous match. However, despite not being able to play in the first four matches, the star player Arduzzaman Munshi gave hope and played for the Bangladesh team after being injury-free.
