6-day long furniture fair in Chittagong from February 1

Chittagong, January 29, 2023 (BASS): Furniture Fair-2023 is going to be held again as usual to highlight the heritage of Chittagong in the furniture industry. The fair will be held at GEC Convention Hall in the city for six days from February 1 to 6. The beautiful and tasteful furniture of Chittagong will reflect the hopes and aspirations of the beloved people in this fair.
Leaders of Chittagong Division of Bangladesh Furniture Industry Owners Association said this at a press conference organized at the conference room of Pavilion Hotel in the city on Sunday afternoon.
Mayor of Chittagong City Corporation will be present as the chief guest in the opening ceremony of the fair. Rezaul Karim Chowdhury and Mahbubul Alam, President of The Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry will be the inaugural function. CMP Commissioner Krishna Pad Roy will be the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the fair.
Bangladesh Furniture Industry Owners Association Senior Vice President of Chittagong Division and convener of this year’s fair committee. Nurul Azam Khan said, although furniture is not the basic need of people, the first choice of tasteful and elegant people is modern design furniture. People’s interest in increasing the beauty of office and home is always towards new and modern design of furniture. Keeping in mind the needs of these tasteful people, the furniture companies under the umbrella of Bangladesh Furniture Industry Owners Association produce international quality furniture in keeping with the competitive world.
He also said in his written statement that this fair is also important in the development of furniture industry. The main objective of organizing this fair is to reduce import dependence and turn the furniture industry into an export-oriented industry. If the government gives patronage and proper supervision to the furniture industry then we can reach our goal. We are optimistic and believe that this industry will one day become the largest export oriented industry in the country.
The furniture fair will be open daily from 10 am to 8 pm. 27 institutions are participating in this year’s fair. It has been co-sponsored by 12 institutions. There will also be special discounts on furniture purchases at the fair. The overall management of this fair has been given to Chittagong Events, a renowned event management company in Chittagong.
The press conference was also attended by Bangladesh Furniture Industry Owners Association Chittagong Division President Chayed ASM Nooruddin, Chittagong Division General Secretary Md. Makchudur Rahman, the joint convener of the fair committee-2023 Al Md. Iqbal, member Shahinul Haque Tutul, Haji Md. Jasim Uddin, Mohammad Yachin, Mohammad Mohiuddin Chowdhury, Hafez Md. Abdul Malek, Chairman of Chittagong Events. Sahabuddin and others.
