Assamese movie ‘Heaven’s Horse’

A 15-minute Assamese film ‘Moor Ghurar Durant Goti’ (Horse of Heaven) has qualified for an Oscar nomination in the Short Film Fiction category. Recently, the director of the film, Maharshi Tuhin Kashyap, gave this information.

The 27-year-old director told PTI, ‘Now we have succeeded in qualifying to enter the Oscar race. It was a dream come true.

The film tells the story of a man who believes he has the fastest horse in the world and wants it to win all the horse races in town. But he actually has a donkey, not a horse.

The film ‘Moor Ghurar Durant Goti’ was made by a student of Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI), Kolkata as his project which recently won the Best Film Award at the Bangalore International Short Film Festival (BISFF) Oscar Eligible Film Festival.

BISFF is the only festival in India that is able to send their winning films in the international and Indian competition categories for the Oscars in the Short Film Fiction category.

Giving away the certificate, BISFF Festival Director Anand Varadaraj noted, ‘We are delighted to announce that ‘Horse from Heaven’ directed by Maharishi Kashyap has won the Indian Competition category of Bangalore International Short Film Festival 2022 and the Academy Short Competition (Oscar) Category (Fiction) entry. will qualify as ‘
