Bangladesh’s ‘Adim’ awarded at Moscow International Film Festival

44th Moscow International Film Festival won two awards in main competition category for Bangladeshi Cinesa “Adim”. These are Silver George Award (Special Jury Award) and Netpack Jury Award. “Adeem” is the debut film of young director Yuvraj Shamim.

On Friday (September 2) at 12:45 PM local time, Netpack Jury Chief presented the award to Yuvraj. He then walked the red carpet in the afternoon. Finally, he received the special jury award in the closing ceremony.

The film’s director Yuvraj Shamim confirmed this news on social media Facebook on Saturday.

He also posted several pictures of happy moments.

Yuvraj Shamim writes, “You can wish me well if you want. We won the Silver St. George Award (Special Jury Award) for ‘Adim’ at the 44th Moscow International Film Festival and before that I won the Netpack Jury Award. So the film ‘Adim’ won two awards in Moscow. I would like to dedicate the award to my father Shahjahan Bhuiyan.”

The story of the people of Bank Mat Basti next to Tongi Railway Station is “Primitive”. Shooting started in 2018. None of the actors in the movie are professional actors, but local slum dwellers. One month of practice before the start of shooting.

“Primitive” premiered on August 30 at the 44th Moscow International Film Festival. The movie was well received by the audience and the judges.
