Free biryani with a movie ticket, the hero and heroine also ran to the hall!

--

Buy a movie ticket and get free biryani! This is surprising but true. The authorities have taken such initiative to return the audience to the cinema hall. The incident happened in Bogra Dhunt. In the traditional Jhongkar cinema hall of this upazila, a packet of biryani is given free with a ticket of 100 rupees. It has received a huge response among entertainment lovers. On Saturday (April 20), the main characters of the film ‘Lipstick’, Pooja Cheri and Adar Azad rushed there after learning about the incident from 12 noon.

The authorities of the cinema hall said that these stars reached the cinema hall at 3 pm on Friday (April 26). They were there for 10 minutes. After seeing the picture with the audience, they left.

Dhunat Upazila Jhongkar cinema hall built by Isa Khan in 1984 keeps losing audience day by day. In the era of internet and smartphones, cinema lovers have become alienated. In this, like all other cinema halls in the country, the audience keeps decreasing. At one stage the cinema hall was closed due to lack of audience. After a long decade, the authorities have again started showing the film in Jhangar Cinema Hall from April 20. The movie ‘Lipstick’ starring Adar Azad-Pooja Cherry is showing in the hall. The movie is produced by Kamruzzaman Roman.

Managing Director of Jhangar Cinema Hall. Isa Khan said that the cinema hall has 400 seats for the audience. The price of each ticket is 100 rupees. Now a free packet of Biryani is being given to every visitor along with the ticket. He also said that they are interested in building a cineplex if they get the grant announced by the government on easy terms to save this industry. But due to various complications, he is not getting financial support. If the hall is constructed well, the audience will turn to the hall again.

Ismat Ara Inu, the director of Jhongkar cinema hall, said that as long as this film is running in the cinema hall, free biryani will be given with the ticket. Basically, this arrangement has been made to attract visitors. However, if the makers make good films, the audience will flock to the cinema halls again. Besides, if we get government incentives, it will be possible for us to turn around in this business.

‘Lipstick’ is being screened daily at 12 noon, 3 pm, 6 pm and 9 pm in cinema halls. But due to heat, the attendance of visitors is less at 12 noon and 3 pm every day. However, at 6 pm and 9 pm, the hall is full of visitors. Daily average viewership response is as expected. Cinema hall goers are now talking about free biryani with ‘Lipstick’.
