Mahanayak Award 2022: Nusrat and Soham got the ‘Mahanayak’ award, list of other award winners Bangabhushan, Bangabibhushan and Mahanayak awards are being given by the West Bengal Information and Culture Department to Tollyganj artists and meritorious people in various fields.

Actress-Member of Parliament Nusrat Jahan (Nusrat Jahan) got a new honor in her career. This year he got the ‘Mahanayak’ honor. There is another name. Soham Chakraborty. He also received this honor. ‘Bangabhushan’, ‘Bangabibhushan’ and ‘Mahanayak’ awards are given by the West Bengal Information and Culture Department to various cultural personalities. The award was last given in 2018. This award ceremony was closed due to the covid situation. Apart from ‘Mahanayak’, ‘Bangabhushan’, ‘Bangabibhushan’ awards are also given. This award is being given to meritorious people of different categories including artists of Tollyganj. The news was earlier that Rituparna Sengupta and Dev are getting ‘Bangabhushan’. There are a few more names in this list. For example, the chairperson of West Bengal Women’s Commission Leena Gangopadhyay actress Indrani Halder, director Sritit Mukhopadhyay, musicians Kaushiki Chakraborty, Jeet Gangopadhyay, Eamon Chakraborty, actress June Mallya, writer Srijat Bandyopadhyay, cricketer Wriddhiman Saha, Dr. from the medical department. Monomoy Banerjee, Dr. Yogiraj Roy and others.

The list of ‘Bangavibhushan’ awardees is also quite long. East Bengal, Mohun Bagan, Mahamedan – three clubs were given this award. Apart from this, the names of singer Kumar Shanu, Abhijit Bhattacharya, theater personality Devashankar Halder, Justice Jyotirmoy Bhattacharya, industrialist Harsh Neotia are also mentioned.

The award ceremony was held in the presence of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Indranil Sen, Raj Chakraborty and others were also present at the event. A letter signed by the Chief Minister has been sent to each by the Information and Culture Department. The letter has been written to the effect that the artist is being honored for his contribution to Bengali films.
