Apart from Shahrukh, Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta starred in the love triangle movie ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’. Recently, director Nikhil Advani revealed some surprising information about the movie, reported Hindustan Times.
While talking to director Rajshree Unplugged, the director said, “After four days of shooting, Shahrukh fell ill with back pain. He told me, ‘Take me out of the movie’. We didn’t and decided to postpone the shoot by six months.”
Nikhil made his directorial debut with ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’. So he felt pressure thinking about the failure of the first movie.
As the first Hindi movie, ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’ was shot in New York. There, the entire unit of the movie had to face various challenges, said the maker.
According to Nikhil, “No one has shot in New York before. People have gone to London, to Switzerland, to Europe. The units have developed their own problems while shooting in New York.
“Also, it is very expensive for a new producer or director to shoot in that city. But Yash-Johar was adept at taking on challenges in any production. However, things were not very easy in the field of cinema.”
In 2003, Kal Ho Na Ho grossed Rs 81.95 crore at the worldwide box office.
Kareena Kapoor was first offered the role of Naina in the film; When the actress refused, Preity Zinta accepted it.
