Entertainment Desk: Actor Shakib Khan’s movie ‘Priyatma’ has been a hit in Kolkata. Even if released in India, the movie is not doing much good due to lack of promotion.
It is known that Shakib-Idhika starrer ‘Priyatma’ was released in India’s West Bengal, Assam and Tripura on November 3. The movie was released in 40 theaters in West Bengal but now it is running in only five theaters. That is, the movie is no longer showing in 35 halls in a span of 3 days.
Gautam Dey, manager of Lali cinema hall in Helabattala area of Barasat in North 24 Parganas, said that the movie is not attracting audiences due to lack of good publicity. Durga Puja is over, Kali Puja is ahead. People are now completely busy moving around.
The hall manager also said that those who are coming to the hall to watch the movie, they are looking for when Salman Khan’s ‘Tiger 3’ will come. There is nothing dear. Now is the era of publicity. Whoever brings the movie to India should think about promotion first to get good business. Otherwise, it will be very difficult to get shows in the coming days.
Besides, it should be taken care not to clash with any big movie. Next is ‘Tiger 3’, followed by Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dunky’, Dev’s ‘Pradhan’. At this time Bangladeshi movies will not do good business here. If the movie is widely promoted, the audience will come to watch the movie.
On the other hand, only three shows of ‘Priyatma’ are running at Mahamaya cinema hall in Baruipur area of South 24 Parganas district. There was not even a noticeable crowd of spectators.
