Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie has been reprimanded by Israeli President Isaac Herzog for her recent comments about the Israel-Hamas war.

In an interview with Piers Morgan, Herzog said he personally witnessed what happened on the first day of the attack and how it was ‘the worst atrocity as a nation’.

According to NDTV, Angelina Jolie recently posted about anti-Israel stance on her social media account.

Referring to her experience helping refugees while working as a UN envoy, Jolie said her focus is on people displaced by violence in any context.

The Hollywood star also said that what happened in Israel (Hamas attack) is an act of terrorism. But this cannot justify the innocent lives lost to the bombardment of Gaza’s civilian population, who have nowhere to go, no access to food or water, no possibility of evacuation and even the basic human right to cross the border to seek refuge.

Gaza is ‘fast becoming a mass grave’ as a result of Israeli airstrikes, he wrote, and the world is watching as millions of Palestinian civilians – children, women and families – are collectively punished. The American actress also posted a picture of the recent Israeli attack on the Gaza Strip.

In response, the Israeli president said in an interview that Jolie had not visited Gaza and that her comments did not recognize Israelis’ right to self-defense.

‘I completely reject his claim. I think he was never there to visit Gaza and see the reality. There is now a war in Gaza, but there is no such humanitarian crisis; From which they are not able to protect themselves,’ said Herzog.
