Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) Department of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has received sensational information about vandalism including burning of vehicles during the blockade program of BNP. The organization claims that the information of the directors and planners is now in their hands. Opposition leaders incited sabotage by promising that the party is coming to power, there is no fear of lawsuits.
CTTC Chief Additional Commissioner of Police Mohammad Asaduzzaman said these things in a press conference today on Monday (November 6) about setting fire to vehicles during the blockade. This press conference was organized in connection with the arrest of two persons in connection with the bus arson in Mugaday.
Stating that BNP leaders and workers are setting fire to vehicles, the CTTC chief said that the party workers were encouraged to set fire by the promise of money and political positions in the blockade.
Asaduzzaman said, CTTC has got all the information about whose instructions and plans the car was set on fire. He said that the responsibility of setting fire to Dhaka is being given on an area basis. A bus was set on fire in Dhaka under the leadership of Amir Hossain Rocky, convener of Sutrapur Thana Chhatra Dal in the capital. Two buses were set on fire in Dhaka on Sunday (November 5) under the direction of Rocky.
The CTTC chief said the workers were promised that the party is coming to power, there is no fear of lawsuits. In the first phase of the blockade, they got three thousand rupees per worker for setting the car on fire. A double reward is announced by the team if the car can be set on fire in the second phase of the blockade.
