When actress Homaira Himu committed suicide, her boyfriend Mohammad Ziauddin Rafi was watching on the bed in front of her. Earlier, Homaira Himu threatened to commit suicide. But her boyfriend didn’t care. Because the actress threatened to commit suicide three to four times before that.
Ziauddin said this during the interrogation of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) after the arrest. RAB Legal and Media Wing Director Commander Khandaker Al Moin said these things in a press conference in the capital on Friday evening regarding the death of Homaira Himu. But RAB could not check the information given by Rafi.
Earlier, after the death of Homayra Himu on Thursday, Ziauddin’s name came up in the incident. He is also known as Rufi alias Urfi Zia in various quarters. After completing ‘O’ level, Ziauddin used to trade in textile chemicals.
Based on interrogation of Ziauddin, RAB said in a press conference that Ziauddin was married to Homayra Himu’s cousin in 2014. Himu and Ziauddin met at that time. However, due to family problems, Himu’s cousin’s relationship with Ziauddin ended. Despite this there was regular communication between Himu and Ziauddin.
In between, Ziauddin got married elsewhere but he was in regular contact with Himu. Four months ago, the two became intimate. At one stage Ziauddin promised to marry this actress. And her lover started visiting Himu’s house regularly. But there were frequent arguments between them on various issues including online gambling.
RAB also said that after the doctors declared Himu dead, they left her body in the hospital and fled with the actress’s two iPhones and car. Later he left the car in the parking lot of Himu’s house. Ziauddin went to Bangshal to sell two mobile phones. He was arrested from there.
Homaira’s aunt has filed a case at the capital’s Uttara Paschim police station in connection with Himu’s death. Ziauddin was arrested in that case.
