Aiming to stop the legacy of Royal Enfield, Bajaj is set to almost double production of the bike

--

Bajaj Auto is determined to increase the sales of premium motorcycles in India. So the company has set a target of manufacturing 10,000 units of Triumph’s Speed 400 and Triumph Scrambler 400X bikes every month by September. The chief financial officer of the organization Dinesh Thapar himself has claimed this. According to a Reuters report, Bajaj is looking to increase its presence in the premium bike market. And so is this action plan.

Bajaj is going to increase the production of Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X

The Triumph Speed 400 and Triumph Scrambler 400X are claimed to have collectively sold around 42,000 units across dealerships since their launch in July 2023. And this year from January to March the sales have been 18,800 units. Bajaj has set a target to increase sales by maintaining this demand.

KTM is currently the leading motorcycle brand in the market. Again, the company has also joined hands with British iconic motorbike maker Triumph to launch the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X. In addition to increasing the sales of premium bikes, Bajaj wants to compete with the market leader Royal Enfield.

Thapar had announced the start of production of 10,000 units of Triumph motorcycles per month in January this year. However, he did not mention the specific period. Currently they manufacture around 6,500 units of two wheelers per month.
