Science and Technology Desk: With a smartphone in hand and an internet connection, nothing remains unknown. When anything comes to mind, the answer can be found by searching on Google. From any road to any place, all the information is in Google’s repository.
But have you ever wondered how much Google knows about you? Have you ever searched on Google about yourself?
You will be surprised to find some very personal information about you there. Some very old pictures or some old messages from the time of opening that Facebook account, starting from username and many other information comes there.
This usually happens because of your presence on social media platforms. In many cases even your home address or phone number may come up. Which is not safe at all.
Keeping in mind the security of users, Google has brought a new feature. The feature alerts users when their personal information, especially contact information, appears in Google search queries. The feature is called ‘Results About You’. When and from where a user’s information came to the search engine, this feature can highlight that aspect, as well as remove the page from Google’s results.
For those who have the possibility of cyber and other risks in their lives, this Results About You feature will be very helpful. This Results About You feature is integrated with Google’s privacy settings and other upcoming features. The feature will help take control over a person’s digital footprint, especially when all the information is flowing to a platform like Google.
