Internationally renowned photographer Shahidul Alam expressed his solidarity with the boycott of Indian products and Bharat Hatao movement. He said, ‘Even on this Independence Day, India has reminded us that we are their slaves by gifting the dead bodies of two people.’

The Global Bangladeshis Alliance for Human Rights held a protest rally in front of the Indian High Commission in London on Monday in support of the boycott of Indian goods. Shahidul Alam joined it virtually and gave a speech.

He said that the way India helped Bangladesh in the liberation war, today’s Bharat Hatao movement is unimaginable. But the way India has been dealing with its neighboring countries, especially Bangladesh, makes the rationale of this movement clear. It also seems that the Bangladesh government is selling the country to India to stay in power.’

The human rights figure and the founder of Indian product boycott movement expressed more solidarity by joining the rally virtually. Pinaki Bhattacharya and President of Public Rights Council and former Daksu VP Nurul Haque Noor.

Meanwhile, this protest rally organized in support of the boycott of Indian products also received a huge response on social media. Many eagerly participated in the virtual gathering. Bahujan commented supporting Bharat Hatao movement.

Md. Rubel wrote, Alhamdulillah boycott has started not only in Bangladesh but now in the whole world. They are enemies of the people and freedom of Bangladesh. So it is our duty to exclude their products.

Expressing solidarity with Shahidul Alam, Facebook user Kudrat, like many others, wrote, “Great, I am by my side..I will be by my side inshallah!”

Muhibul Bulbul writes, Despite the inclement weather, the presence of countless people in the protest in front of India House in London proves the spontaneous participation of all in the Boycott India movement. The Boycott India movement is ongoing and will continue.

Hafizur Rahman wrote that, although it is late, it is now evident to many that Bangladesh is going to become India’s Sikkim.

Motivated by this day’s rally, Mohammad Habib wrote, “I was the only one who gave a protest call in front of the Indian Embassy in Paris to protest against the tipai mukha dam.” Many organizations joined that day to make it successful. They should call again to boycott goods and protest the killings at the border.
